James Daly sculptor of the human form, cast in bronze or aluminium resin with limited editions available for sale

James Daly is a UK based sculptor that works in clay. Sculptures of the human form, such as female dancer or male torso are cast in bronze and aluminium. Many works are availble for sale. The human form inspires me. Having attended life classes for many years I am driven to create ever larger pieces in clay. This pushes the limits of what can be constructed before the clay collapses. Sometimes I push it too far with disastrous consequences. The process of experimenting with glazes by saturating the clay before final firing reveal new and exciting colours and textures. Some pieces have been dipped repeatedly in a verdigris glaze which has resulted in a multilayered finish, predominately green with blackened areas over brown beneath. It is truly unique. In some areas the glaze has crazed and shrunk off the piece in the intense heat of the kiln.
